Until you can't

I've recently discovered a song by Cody Johnson called "Until You Can't".  It's a song about putting stuff off and then not being able to do it because it's too late.

Life is short and our days are not guaranteed, I get it. I've been thinking a lot about that sentiment in my own life

The song says "Don't wait on tomorrow 'cause tomorrow may not show.  Say your sorries, your I-love-yous, 'cause man you never know" and they are all great sentiments, but there's so much more we shouldn't put off.

We shouldn't put off accepting Christ.  Today is the day of salvation
(2 Corinthians 6:2), we shouldn't put off encouraging each other (Heb 3:13) and we shouldn't put off planting seeds if we want a harvest.

It's easy to become weary in this day and age (I'd even go as far as to say that one of the symptoms of modern society is marked apathy) and we can convince ourselves that doing nothing is ok, procrastination isn't that bad, but while I am convinced that rest is necessary and godly, if we continually put of certain things, we will eventually run out of time one way or another.

Galatians 6:9-10 (TPT) "And don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming! Take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others, especially to our brothers and sisters in the family of faith!"

It's hot here today, but that doesn't mean I should laze around and forget the rest of the world.  There's lots that can be done, even from home - praying for others, giving someone a call, witnessing to those that come across our path, encouraging people around us....all things that we can do until we can't. We can also prepare our hearts for encounters with people, by praying in tongues, worshipping God and listening to the spirit, as you just never know what time people have.

Today, as always, my encouragement is to get in tune with the Holy Spirit's plan for your day.  Listen and see what he is asking you to do, and do it. Simple!  😃

Have a great weekend
