Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all!
I pray that 2022 brings you closer in your walk with Jesus, that you see more of the power of God in your life, and you grow in confidence to reach out to those around you with God's unconditional love and compassion.

Today I want to tell you about a powerful tool or weapon I have discovered.  PEACE!

John 14:1 is my favourite scripture.  It says
LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED

The word troubled means: to agitate, to cause one inward commotion, take away a person's calmness of mind, disturb his equanimity, to disquiet, make restless, to stir up, to trouble, to strike one's spirit with fear and dread, to render anxious or distressed, to perplex the mind of one.

The news has become adept at pumping out fear or agitation.  but Jesus commanded us (LET NOT is a command) to not let our hearts be troubled.   We choose whether to absorb what the world shows us or to 'let not our hearts be troubled'.  We have to decide whether we let the stuff of the world disturb our calm, our balance or our peace.

We're told in Timothy  that in the last days, perilous times shall come.

2 Timothy 3:1 KJV This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

or in TPT
But you need to be aware that in the final days the culture of society will become extremely fierce and difficult for the people of God.

The word 'perilous' is defined in the dictionary as 'full of danger or risk', but in the Greek it also carries the concept of something that is hard to do, hard to take, hard to approach, hard to bear, troublesome, dangerous, harsh, fierce or savage.

It speaks of great challenges.  I think we can all agree we are in challenging times, and the plan of the enemy is to fill our minds with fear, stress and doubt, but today is the day to say 'I will rise up and let not my heart be troubled'.
We must decide not to let these things distract us.

The Passion Translation of John 14:1 says
Don’t worry or surrender to your fear...
We know from the Word that God is unchanging.  With him there is no variableness or shadow of turning.  God is not shocked by a current situation or culture and his promises and Spirit are not dependant on who is in government,  the state of a nation or the personal situation we find ourselves in. Thank GOD!

So practically how do we keep our own hearts from being troubled?  We gird our minds with God's truths.  We worship and focus on him. We pray in the spirit to stir ourselves up.  We declare and speak his word.  We fill ourselves with faith words and we take on his peace.

Further in John chapter 14, Jesus goes on to tells us  (verse 27)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Take God's peace today and choose not to let your heart get agitated.  Begin this year as you mean to go on, using one of God's greatest weapons against the enemy - peace!  Refuse what the world has to offer and instead begin 2022 in peace and tranquility (internal), balanced in mind and fully open to what God has to say to you.

Happy New Year!
